There is growing concern about the state of the world and how we may navigate and at the very least, mitigate complex global challenges. People are searching for guidance and ways to create effective and sustainable change. In this new book, with both sensitivity and boldness, Wendy Wood and Mazur examine the nature and qualities of collective social and environmental responsibility.
The book shares the stories of people who are active in the fields of social and environmental justice, health, education, and peace and reconciliation, and the qualities they have found to be critical in their work. The reader is called upon to search deeply within about how his or her own experiences might be shaped by these qualities of mindful engagement and altruism, thus helping to answer the profound question: What is truly required to work in ways that do no harm?
